About Paul Lovell

Paul Lovell, SEO consultant

I'm Paul Lovell, a technical SEO consultant. I've worked in SEO for 15+ years, most of it spent doing the parts of the job that don't show up in a case study slide — crawl logs, schema markup, log-file analysis, the kind of audit work that finds why a site actually stopped ranking.

I consult directly with multimillion-dollar businesses, including Liberty Safes, Daily Voice, AMBS Call Center, and RetroFoam, on technical SEO, content strategy, PPC, and analytics — usually brought in when the in-house team already knows the basics and needs someone to find what's actually broken.

What I work on

Most engagements start with a problem nobody has explained yet: a traffic drop after a migration, a JavaScript site that Google only half-indexes, structured data that validates but never earns a rich result, or GA4 numbers that don't match the CRM. I work from the evidence — server logs, Search Console exports, rendered HTML, the dataLayer — rather than a generic checklist.

Structured data is the area I'm best known for. I've hosted panels on it for years and run schema markup audits for sites where entity markup needs to hold up for Google and for AI search. The blog is where I write that work up.

Built by SEO

Alongside consulting, I build and run Built by SEO, a suite of SEO apps for HubSpot — IndexNow submission, Google Indexing, GSC reporting, and llms.txt management among them. The tools exist because I kept building the same fix for client work and it made sense to ship it properly.
